Beyond boutique: Mora Capital Management's next steps

2026-07-06

Jaime Moreno, CEO of Mora Capital Management, has granted an interview to Citywire in which he outlines the company's strategy and vision for the coming years.

Under the new name Mora Capital Management, the company continues to evolve as an independent asset manager backed by the institutional strength of the MoraBanc Group, a family-owned banking institution with over 70 years of history.

  • A differentiated model

Moreno highlights that Mora Capital's model combines the best of both worlds: the independence and client-centric approach typical of an external asset manager, with the institutional capabilities of an international banking group. The company has approximately 40 professionals in Zurich, specializing in advisory, compliance management and risk.

Another differentiator is its commitment to true open architecture, working with over 20 custodian banks in Switzerland and international jurisdictions.

  • Growth ambitions

After doubling assets under management over the past three years, reaching the €2bn mark by the end of 2025, the next objective is to reach $5bn in AUM. The strategy is based on maintaining this momentum, attracting top-tier relationship managers and leveraging the potential of selective M&A opportunities.

  • Talent, AI and resilience

Regarding talent attraction, Moreno emphasizes that the company seeks expertise, quality and long-term alignment with its values, beyond the ability to bring client portfolios.

On artificial intelligence, the company acknowledges its transformative importance in the industry, but emphasizes that human intelligence and empathy will remain irreplaceable. Technology will improve efficiency, but the value clients seek is the trust built over the years and the ability to guide them through opportunities and challenges.

Regarding the current geopolitical environment, the company adopts a balanced approach: acknowledging risks, but avoiding making geopolitics the only factor in portfolio management. Diversification and careful selection of quality assets remain fundamental pillars of its investment philosophy.

  • The rebranding

The change to Mora Capital Management reflects the company's natural evolution and its international expansion within the group. The new brand reinforces alignment with the family-owned international banking group and clearly communicates the strength and long-term commitment that supports its value proposition.
